The Assignment

Design a handbook for the upcoming class to keep with them throughout the program. Include given prompts and questions, local resources, and inspiration from professionals to inspire the next generation.

Vade Mecum is a handbook or guide that is kept constantly at hand for consultation. The Latin phrase means 'go with me' and is first seen in the 17th century. The name was fitting for this guide, as it is something that is meant as a resource to be used and abused (or loved) by the owner.

I wanted to add lots of open space for creativity and note taking, annotations and notes are a huge part of my design process so it was critical for me to include a space for notes on many of the pages. I explored typography and funky layouts to break myself out of the norm and create something to hopefully encourage others to do the same.
