The Assignment

A semester long challenge to develop solutions that help foster healthier cities. The goal is to use design thinking to launch products, services and initiatives that can make our cities more equitable, inclusive, sustainable, ecological, and ultimately, whole. Choose one of the topics - community catalyzing tools, improving environments, living well, or experience economy - and create a product to change peoples lives in a positive way.

When I think of healthy cities, I first think about healthy people and a health community. The health and wellness of community members is important to all aspects of the city, but it can be hard to get started on a new diet or routine. Not all diets work for everyone, and most apps are solely focused on weight loss, and the weight doesn’t stay off for good.

Hir Health (which stands for habits, intentions, & rituals) is a habit changing app made by women, for women. At Hir, we focus on building long-term healthy habits, intentions, and rituals that women can implement into their daily routine for years to come. Our partnerships with local nutritionists and gyms provide jobs to local businesses, as well as creating stronger relationships between our users and partners.

Commercial & Competition Pitch

I participated in the Design Entrepreneur Showcase for Hir, and created a pitch presentation surrounding my idea.
